Quality assurance in HDPE geomembrane installation

A geomembrane lining system is only as good as the installation behind it. The right product, incorrectly installed, will fail. That is why quality assurance is built into every stage of the work we do, from the credentials of the people on site through to the documentation we hand over at completion.

Workmanship

Our team of specialised plastic technicians are CSWIP certified, issued by TWI Certification Ltd. CSWIP is an internationally recognised qualification for welding inspection and plastic fabrication, and it is the benchmark standard for HDPE geomembrane installation.

We adhere to New Zealand health and safety requirements and apply best practice methods on every site to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.

Testing

100% of all wedge fusion and extrusion welding is tested on site to the highest specifications, conforming with proven worldwide standards. No weld leaves site untested.

Independent testing is also available where a weld sample is cut from the installed liner and sent to an independent test laboratory for destructive testing. This confirms that both our equipment and our welds meet the required standards, and provides the principal with third-party verified documentation.

QA/QC certificates and records

On completion of the installation, we provide the client with a Quality Assurance Report containing:

• Daily journals of all works carried out on any given day

• Sub-grade acceptance documentation

• Results of all non-destructive and destructive weld tests carried out on site

• All air pressure test results and where situated on the liner

• Panel layout drawing including panel numbers

• Drawing showing all fusion and extrusion welds

• Manufacturer's test data on geomembranes supplied

• A 20-year manufacturer-supplied material warranty

• Photographs of the project through various stages
